A GLASTONBURY festival act will bring Preston Park to life tomorrow (May 27) as part of a music event.
Bridie Jackson and The Arbour, a group confirmed for the Pyramid Stage at this year’s Glastonbury, is headlining The Walled Garden Festival at the park in Eaglescliffe, near Stockton.
The band has also organised the Arts Council-funded contemporary music event, which also features bands including Rob Heron & The Teapad Orchestra, Lilliput, By Toutatis, Ditte Elly and Sara Dennis & The Ravensmiths.
The Festival is part of the Music in Museums project which runs from May to July with musical performances and projects in museums and galleries throughout the region.
This afternoon Stockton Borough Council’s popular Folktastic event, a traditional celebration of music and song, will take place inside the museum from 1pm to 4pm. The cobbled Victorian street will be brought alive with music and dance from across the north.
Admission to the daytime event is free with payment of museum entrance, whilst tickets for the evening contemporary folk festival are £8. Museum entry is just £2 for an adult or £4 for a family, and tickets are valid for a year from the date of issue.
Hot food and refreshments will be available through the day and evening.
Tickets for the evening festival are on sale from the Museum's Gift Shop during normal opening hours, telephone 01642-527375.
