POLICE are continuing to appeal for witnesses after reports a man was seen falling from the Tyne Bridge.
A man was seen on the wrong side of the railings on the bridge before falling into the River Tyne at 6.30pm on Friday.
Police, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, Coastguard carried out a search of the area however the man has not been found.
Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area and saw what happened or anyone seemingly in a distressed state to contact them.
Anyone who thinks they may know the identity of the man is also urged to contact Police.
He is described as white, slim build, in his late 20s/30s early, with short hair. It's believed he was wearing a waterproof jacket.
