MECCANO models of planes, cranes and automobiles were on display at a County Durham rail museum over the weekend.
The North East Meccano Society held its annual exhibition at Locomotion, the National Railway Museum, in Shildon near Bishop Auckland.
Dozens of models were on display, many of which were moving.
Creations included fairground rides, trains, cranes, and even an ice rink featuring moving penguins.
Meccano was invented by Frank Hornby, the pioneer of the model railway, in 1901 with the aim of teaching children about engineering.
