THOUSANDS of music fans are descending the banks of the River Tyne for the region’s biggest outdoor music festival.
Evolution on Newcastle’s Quayside is underway and tonight’s headline act The Vaccines will follow on from Ellie Goulding, Rudimental and The Strypes.
Tomorrow (Monday, May 27) Paloma Faith tops the bill after a day of music from Jake Bugg, Bastille and Alunageorge.
Evolution Festival promoter Jim Mawdsley said: “We have been working damned hard over the last few months to put together the strongest, most varied line-up yet.
“As usual, we are proud to have such a strong mix of today’s heavyweights and future stars.
“The dance stage at Ballast Hills will be an even bigger draw this year and again we are producing all of this for the best-value ticket in the UK Festival market.”
Day tickets cost £29.50. For more information log on to evolutionfestival.co.uk/
