Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following reports that a man fell from the Tyne Bridge.
He was seen on the wrong side of the bridge railings at 6.30pm on Friday (May 24) before plunging into the River Tyne below.
Police, fire crews and Coastguard searched the area but nothing has so far been found.
Officers are appealing to anyone in the area who saw what happened or anyone seemingly in distress to contact them or who may know the man's identity to contact them.
He is described as white, slim build, in his late 20s/30s early, with short hair. It's believed he was wearing a waterproof jacket.
