A CONSTRUCTION site manager has persuaded his daughter to fly the nest by building her a new home.
Derek Jackson has overseen the construction of a new housing estate in Howden-le-Wear, and his daughter Louise and her partner Ian Moore are among the first to move in.
Mr Jackson, 60, the site manager at Linden Homes’ Howden Green development, said: “I suppose I hoped she would take a shine to one of the properties we were building and take the hint that maybe it was time to think about getting a place of her own.”
Ms Jackson, 23, who will live in the Langley style house with her 26-year-old partner, said: “I just popped down to see my dad, but I was immediately impressed with the layout of the houses.
“We had a look around, took a tour of the show homes and fell in love with the Langley straight away. “Of course, it has dad’s seal of approval too.”
