HARTLEPOOL'S Graeme Storm carded three birdies on the back nine this afternoon to ensure he made the cut at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth with plenty to spare.
Having started at one over after a decent opening round, Storm slipped to three over when he recorded bogeys on the third and ninth.
At that stage, the Rockliffe Hall professional was on the wrong side of the projected cut, but a birdie on the par-five 12th proved the start of a strong recovery.
Another birdie followed on the 16th, with Storm clawing back another shot on the penultimate hole to post a one-under par round of 71.
He will tee off in tomorrow's third round on level par for the tournament, six shots adrift of leader Francesco Molinari.
Molinari is on six under after a four-under-par round of 68 today, one shot clear of South African George Coetzee, Scot Marc Warren and England's Mark Foster, who are all on five under.
Lee Westwood and Ernie Els are among a large group of players on three under, but Luke Donald, Ian Poulter and York's Simon Dyson have both missed the cut.
