A FUND-raising tribute is to be held in memory of a North Yorkshire soldier killed in Afghanistan nearly four years ago.
Serjeant Phillip Scott, a married father-of two serving with 3 Rifles, was killed by an IED while on patrol in Helmand Province in November 2009.
Born in Malton and brought up in Richmond, the 30-year-old had worked for the Zetland estate before joining the Army in 2001.
The Phillip Scott Memorial Game Fair and Shoot will be held in the grounds of Aske Hall, Richmond on June 2 from 10am to 5.30pm.
Sjt Scott’s father Mike, who is the gamekeeper on the Aske Estate, is helping organise the event which is raising funds for the ABF the Soldiers Charity and the Rifles welfare rust, Care for Casualties.
The day’s attractions include a clay shoot, fly casting, gun dog competition and demonstration, archery, have -a-go dog agility, terrier racing, falconry display, refreshments and bar, tombola and trade stands and much more.
Admission is £5 per adult and free for under-16s.
