A MAJOR exhibition looking at the role of one of the region’s great stately homes during times of war will open this weekend.
The show at Castle Howard, near Malton, is one of a series being held at various venues across the Yorkshire region.
Duty Calls, The Country House in Time of War will open on Saturday, May 25 and will continue until the end of next year.
It traces Castle Howard’s involvement in battles and wars at home and abroad, from the Wars of the Roses and the Battle of Bosworth Moor in 1485 to the present day, but particularly focuses on the First and Second World Wars.
