MORE than 200 choristers from across northern England and Scotland descended on Durham for a day of sport today (Wednesday, May 22).
The young singers, from as far afield as Edinburgh and Peterborough, gathered at Durham Cathedral for the Northern Division of the Choir Schools Association’s annual sports day.
There was a girls’ rounders tournament and a football competition for the boys.
The day ended with a special evensong service in the cathedral.
Choristers attended from: Ampleforth Abbey, North Yorkshire; St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh; Lincoln Cathedral; Liverpool Roman Catholic Cathedral; Manchester Cathedral; Newcastle Cathedral; Peterborough Cathedral; Southwell Minster; St Peter’s Church, Wolverhampton; and York Minster, plus Durham Cathedral.
