A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a house blaze in Bishop Auckland tonight (Monday May 20).
The kitchen of the semi-detached property in Aclet Close was severely damaged by the fire, which broke out at about 9.30pm.
A spokeswoman for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said one woman was given oxgen therapy and first aid at the scene, before being taken to hospital suffering from chest pains and smoke inhalation.
Four children who were in the house did not require hospital treatment.
