CONCERN is growing for a university student who went missing after a night out.
Jason Fyles, a town planning student at Newcastle University, was last seen at a friend’s house in the Sandyford area of the city at around 2.45am on Thursday, May 16.
The 19-year-old, originally from the Southport area, had previously been drinking with friends in Newcastle city centre.
Friends say they are concerned about messages placed on Twitter by the missing teen after he was last seen.
Mr Fyles is described as being 5ft 9ins tall, of very slim build with a pale complexion and short ginger hair.
He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, grey jumper, beige chino trousers and ankle length brown leather shoes.
Superintendent Andy McDyer, of Northumbria Police, said: "Mr Fyles had been out with friends and was last seen in the early hours of Thursday morning in Sandyford. Extensive enquiries are continuing to be carried out to trace his whereabouts.
"His disappearance is out of character and we're concerned for his welfare due to the length of time he's been missing. I'd urge anyone who sees him or who has information about his whereabouts to contact police."
Anyone with any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191.
