GOLFERS can get in the swing at an annual charity golf day to raise funds for charity.
This year’s Rotary Club of Teesside West’s event, held at Dinsdale Spa Golf Club, near Darlington, is in aid of Diabetes UK and Butterwick House Children’s Hospice, as well as other local charities.
The competition is open to teams of two players with handicap limits of 28 for men and 36 for ladies.
The golf day started life at Billingham Golf Club in 2000, before moving to Dinsdale Spa in 2011. Over the years it has raised more than £33,000 for local good causes.
Julie Wood, fundraising manager for Diabetes UK Northern and Yorkshire, said: “The Rotary Club of Teesside West charity golf day is a well established and very successful fundraising event, and we are extremely grateful to the Rotary Club for making us one of their chosen charities for this year’s competition."
Entry for the golf day on Friday, June 28, is £40 per team and sponsorship of prizes costs £25. To enter or for more information call Diabetes UK on 01325-488606 or email northyorks@diabetes.org.uk
