A MAN caught with indecent images of children and pornographic cartoons has admitted a series of charges.
Jonathan Pennington will be sentenced at Teesside Crown Court next month after background reports at written.
The 24-year-old was due to go on trial today (Monday, May 20), but changed his pleas to guilty before the case got underway.
Judge Peter Armstrong told him his admissions "showed some remorse and insight" and could save him from jail.
Pennington, of Bannockburn Way, Billingham, near Stockton, will be dealt with on June 17.
He admitted to charges of making indecent photographs of children and one of possessing prohibited images.
The court heard that 24 pictures of youngsters and 34 cartoons were found on two lap-tops in January last year.
