LARGE-scale images from the Lindisfarne Gospels and a facsimile of the complete book are to be carried in procession into the ruins of their priory birthplace.
The items will be carried into Lindisfarne Priory, on Holy Island, for a united act of Christian worship to welcome the Gospels back to Durham for this summer’s three-month loan.
The preacher will be Reverend Ruth Gee, who by then will be president of the Methodist Conference, and there will be songs led by the choir of Newcastle’s St Nicholas’ Cathedral.
The theme will be Jesus’ seven ‘I am’ sayings from John’s Gospel.
The service will take place on Saturday, July 13. Entry is by ticket only. To book, visit holyislandpilgrimage2013.info
