STRUCTURAL tests will be carried out on a bridge that was hit by a lorry.
Durham County Council will carry out structural tests on a steel beam on Rock Road Bridge, in Spennymoor, County Durham, following the incident late last month.
Motorists are warned diversions will be in place between 7pm on Saturday, June 1 and 7am the following morning.
Brian Buckley, strategic highways manager, said: “We are aware that some disruption is inevitable but these tests are needed due to a road traffic incident where a lorry crashed into the bridge late last month.
“We have however scheduled the testing to cause as little inconvenience as possible.”
Advance information signs will be in place to inform road users of diversions.
