A power cut has caused a delay in deliveries of The Northern Echo this morning.

The outage hit the paper's printing press in the early hours. Although a back-up plan to switch printing to Newcastle was put put into action the delay means many newsagents are without the Great Daily of the North this morning.

Staff are working with newsagents to get the paper into stores as quickly as possible and we apologise to all our customers and advertisers for the delay.
