FOUR people have been arrested following a blaze which destroyed a cricket pavilion in the early hours of today, May 15.
Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at Malton and Old Malton Cricket Club at Malton in North Yorkshire shortly before 1am.
Two local appliances attended and crews used hose reels and breathing apparatus to bring the fire under control but the pavilion was left 90 per cent fire damaged.
Fire investigators quickly established that the fire had been started deliberately and called for police assistance.
Three males aged 30, 26 and 17, and a 17-year-old girl, were arrested in the nearby area at around 2am.
Following questioning, the two 17-year-olds were released on police bail pending further enquiries. The two men are currently still in custody.
Witnesses or anyone with information that could assist the investigation, are urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two, and ask for Malton Police. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555-111.
