THE strong family bonds cultivated by the City of Durham Freemen were further strengthened today (Monday, May 13) when three new members were sworn in.
Award-winning construction site manager Chris Fenwick, a member of the Joiners’ Company, was joined by his son Alexander and daughter Amalia (correct).
Mr Fenwick, 49, of Durham City, served his time as a joiner within the city boundaries, before further studies earned him a Bachelor of Science degree from Northumbria University and membership of the Chartered Institute of Building.
More lately he has been involved in a range of multi-million pound contracts across the North-East and beyond – including the Baltic on Tyneside.
He is a member of the Mayor of Durham’s Bodyguard and was admitted as a freeman in February of last year. His children joined him in the same company – one of the freemen’s eight surviving guilds.
