AN authority is looking for sponsors to back a prestigious awards scheme.
The long-running County Durham Environment Awards take place later this year and organisers are looking for sponsors to get behind the scheme, with packages available from £250 to more than £2,000.
This year, the awards, run by the County Durham Environment Partnership, will be presented in 11 categories to recognise great design, environmental guardianship and community spirit.
Terry Collins, chair of the County Durham Environment Partnership, said: "The awards are now in their 24th year and are going from strength to strength with the highest ever number of entries being submitted last year.
"The success of the awards is very much thanks to the generous support we have from the many organisations which have sponsored the scheme over the years and we are once again seeking sponsorship for this year.
"This is an exciting opportunity to help reward those who make a difference to the environment in County Durham."
