TWO motorcyclists were killed in separate road accidents on the North York Moors on Sunday.
A 47-year-old biker, from Stockton, died when he was involved in a collision on the A171 near the Falcon Pub between Whitby and Scarborough in North Yorkshire at 10.20am.
He had been riding his white Yamaha motorcycle towards Scarborough in the company of another bike when he was in collision with a silver Nissan X-trail.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second motorcyclist died following an accident on the A169 north of Pickering, near Lockton.
The collision, between a silver Vauxhall Astra and the motorbike, happened at about 1pm on Sunday.
The rider, a 51-year-old man from Redcar, was taken to Scarborough District Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
No one else was injured in the accident and the road remained closed for some time. Two road ambulances and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were called to the scene.
Witnesses to either accident are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
