A BIKERS’ rally has been held in the North-East to raise money for charity.
Lanchester Centurions Motorcycle Club staged the camping event at Newbiggin Farm in Lanchester, County Durham, from Friday until today. (Sunday, May 12)
The ‘Ben Hur Rally’ featured live music from bands and was held in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
Treasurer Roy Bennington said: “Bikers will always want to help support the GNAAS who provide us with an essential lifeline.”
The Centurions, now in their 21st year ‘on the road’, have been stalwart supporters of the air ambulance for nearly a decade and in the last five years alone have donated over £25,000.
The latest donation of £2,000 was made on Wednesday April 24 and was received by Rob Colgrave of the Teeside branch of the charity.
He thanked Centurions’ chairman Les Ward for the club’s continued hard work in helping to keep the helicopters airborne.
