A CHARITY night in memory of a well-known washing machine repair man is being held in County Durham.
Malcolm Kirk, from Consett, died aged 63 last summer after suffering from cancer since 2009.
Now his relatives have organised an evening of entertainment to raise money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, which was setup by the former England manager, to help fight the disease.
It is being held at The Demi in Consett on May 18 from 7pm in honour of Mr Kirk, who had two children and two grandchildren.
Mr Kirk’s widow, Eunice, 63, said: “He would want us to raise as much as possible. He loved live music and played in bands himself. He certainly would have attended if he could. It is his sort of night.”
There will be live bands, food, tombola and raffle with prizes including 12 months gym membership, a beauty box from House of Fraser worth over £400, an IPAD mini and lots of others.
Entry of £4 is payable on the door but tickets can be booked by calling 0751-517-6141 or 01207-502-489.
