WOMEN are being encouraged to limber up and take part in a fun run at an historic country park.
Organised by Durham County Council, the event will be held at Hardwick Park, Sedgefield, on Sunday, June 2 is open to all women aged 16 and over.
Competitors can choose to run 1k, 3k or 5k on a course that loops the restored Georgian park and everyone who completes it will receive a medal.
Helen Tones, sport and physical activities development officer, said: “This event is one of many activities we coordinate across the county to encourage women and girls to take part in regular exercise and we hope to see a fantastic turn out.
“As well as the many health benefits from participating in the run, this is a great opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Hardwick Park.”
The run will start at 11am, with registration at 10am and warm-up at 10.45am.
Entry is £3.50, discounted to £2.50 for those who register by 12pm on Friday, May 17.
Runners can arrive on the day and spectators are welcome.
