AN elderly woman has suffered head injuries after a collision with a 4x4 in a city centre.
The 76-year-old had been walking her two dogs on Water Skellgate, in Ripon, when she was hit by a green Nissan X-Trail which had travelled down Duck Hill, shortly after 8am today (Friday, May 10).
The woman, who lives in the city, was taken to Harrogate District Hospital.
The road was closed while police examined the scene.
North Yorkshire Police urged anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the green Nissan or woman before the incident to call 101, select option two and ask for Steve James.
