TRAIN services were disrupted after an elderly man died on the railway line near York.
The incident happened just after 12.30pm today, (Thursday, May 9) at Earfit Lane, Copmanthorpe.
Police and the ambulance service attended and the man was declared dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious.
The train involved in the incident was the 11.35 Newcastle to Southampton service and British Transport Police officers are trying to establish the exact circumstances. The dead man has not been identified.
