VOLUNTEERS wanting to help out at Sure Start centres are being offered a place on a ten-week training programme to help them prepare for issues they may face.
Although it started last week, the Access All Areas course is still open to new people who want to volunteer at a Sure Start Centre.
The programme, for people living in the Teesdale area, aims to raise awareness of issues they may come across such as domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, disability, community engagement, conflict management and employment skills.
The course, in conjunction with 2D, takes place on Fridays between 10am and noon at Barnard Castle Outreach Centre.
Places must be booked by contacting Evenwood Children’s Centre on 01388-830920.
