A MAN was rescued by firefighters last night (May 8) after a blaze at a disused warehouse where tyres were stored.
Cleveland Fire Brigade was called to the premises on Cambridge Road, North Ormesby, at around 7.10pm.
Two appliances and the hydraulic platform from Middlesbrough attended, along with an appliance from Grangetown and another from the Marine fire station.
The fire was under control by 7.40pm.
"This was tyres inside a derelict warehouse," a spokeswoman for Cleveland Fire and Rescue said. "There was one person rescued by fire brigade and given oxygen until the arrival of the ambulance.
"There was smoke and fire damage to the interior of the warehouse."
