POLICE are appealing for information after a man approached a 21-year-woman in a parked car, opened its door and grabbed her by the arm.
The woman, who drove away following the incident at Warwick Drive in Concord, on Wearside, at 10am yesterday (Tuesday, May 7), was not injured but was left shaken.
Officers are carrying out inquiries in order to establish the circumstances of the incident.
The man, who walked away, is described as 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins tall.
He was wearing dark jeans and a khaki top and carrying a backpack across one arm. His appearance is described as unkempt.
Acting Washington Neighbourhood Inspector Ron Hyde said: "We're carrying out inquiries in order to establish what may have happened and what the man's motive was for the incident.”
