A RANGE of free activities are on offer at open days at leisure centres in Derwentside.
Leisureworks is holding the events on Saturday May 18 at the Louisa Centre in Stanley and Belle Vue Leisure and Swim Centre in Consett.
There will be free activities for adults and children, including taster sessions of the current leisure programme to encourage people to join in.
A spokesperson for Leisureworks said: “We’re aiming to encourage all members of the community to come along and try something new."
The open day at The Louisa Centre is between 8am and 4.30pm. Activities include free swimming, entry to the gym and adult exercise classes, including Virtual Spinning.
There is also an opportunity for children to try a new sport such as gymnastics, trampolining, squash or racketball, archery and football.
Other children’s activities free for the day include entry to The Louisa Lagoon and Little Lagoon soft play, cheerleading and street dance sessions.
Belle Vue Leisure Centre's open day is from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Free activities include adult fitness classes including zumba, spin ‘n’ one, and bootcamp.
Squash and racketball coaching will also be available for all ages. Entry to the playground and snooker and pool tables will be free all day.
Belle Vue Swim Centre will also host a free family swim from 2pm to 4pm, including use of inflatables and aqua slide.
