A SCULPTURE of a coal miner has had to be repaired, after being damaged by people sitting on it.
The 15ft-high sculpture of a coal miner, made of willow, oak, holly and blackthorn, was installed at Low Burnhall woods, near Durham City, last Spring.
The artwork was damaged by people sitting on it and the winter’s snow.
It has been repaired by Ruth Thompson, of Sylvan Skills, and Anna Turnbull, of Biteabout Arts.
Low Burnhall is operated by the Woodland Trust charity, which bought the former farmland in 2008.
