The Sunderland Fundraising Group of the Teenage Cancer Trust will hold a comedy night on Saturday May 25 at South Moor Excelsior Club in South Moor, Stanley, County Durham. Man hurt: A man was found with a head injury in Gray Street, Sunderland, just before 12.45am today (Tuesday 7 May).The 35-year-old was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with a fractured cheekbone and cut to his head. Police are looking to see if this is connected to an earlier incident at Hendon Valley Road.

Aggravated burglary: Two men broke through patio doors at a house in Lichfield Road, Sunderland, and threatened a 60-year-old woman with a knife, demanding cash, at 5.45am today (Tuesday May 7). The pair left with a sum of cash. The woman was uninjured but distressed.
