A SUPPORT group for people with multiple sclerosis is appealing for new members to join in with their sessions.

The group formed more than six years ago and meets every Tuesday at the Business Centre in Crook.

It is funded by the Stanhope and Weardale branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and is open to anyone with the condition.

Jane Hope from the group said it is a good social occasion and members also learn about how to manage their MS from each other.

She said: “We can talk about things here that we simply cannot talk about with people who don’t have MS.

“It’s about socialising and having fun.”

The group, which currently has members from across the Wear Valley area, enjoy a variety of activities especially arts and crafts.

The group meets at the centre from 10.45am to 12.45pm every Tuesday. Visitors should press the 2D intercom button for entry.
