THE body of a woman found in the River Tees yesterday lunchtime (MONDAY) has been confirmed by police to be that of missing Egglescliffe woman Carol Millman.
The 69-year-old disappeared from the home she shared with her husband in Egglescliffe village, near Eaglescliffe, between about 9.15pm and 1.20am on Saturday night.
Her body was found by search teams at midday yesterday in the Tees around the Eaglescliffe area.
A police spokesman said: “Cleveland Police can confirm that the body recovered from the River Tees is that of missing person Carol Daphne Millman.
“Police can confirm they are not treating the death as suspicious.”
Mountain Rescue teams from Cleveland and Teesdale joined police searches on Sunday and Cleveland Fire Brigade searched the river around Yarm with its boat.
The police helicopter, dog team and road police officers also joined in the search and police issued a description to ask for the public’s help in tracing her.
