A CHARTERED surveyors is preparing for a summer of fundraising to celebrate 150 years of business in the North-East.

To mark their milestone anniversary, staff from the Darlington office of Smiths Gore chartered surveyors and property consultants will take part in a number of fundraising events to raise funds for the Upper Teesdale Agriculture Support Services (UTASS) and Brain Tumour Research and Support Across Yorkshire (BTRS).

The team hopes to raise £20,000, which will be split between the two charities at the end of the year.

Partner Philip Coles said: “We are proud of our long association with the North-East and our work over 150 years in the rural community.

“To celebrate 150 years of working in Darlington the team has decided to give something back to the local community through a programme of fundraising activities over the summer.

“We have chosen these two deserving charities as they both have a strong reputation in the area and provide an incredible service to the local community.

“We are delighted to be partnering with them over the summer to help raise as much money as we can.”
