STAFF at a North Yorkshire store were threatened with a knife by a robber who demanded cash from the till.
Police in Harrogate are appealing for anyone with information about the robbery at the One Stop Community Stores, in Devonshire Place, Harrogate at 1.50pm on Sunday (May 5) to get in touch as soon as possible.
The man escaped on foot with an unknown amount of cash before making his way along Skipton Road in the town.
The shop staff were shaken up by the incident, but uninjured.
Police said the suspect was wearing a white or grey hoodie and similar coloured tracksuit bottoms. He wore a covering over his face and had his hood up during the robbery.
Detective Sergeant Paul Schofield of Harrogate CID said: “The shop is on a busy road in a residential area and we expect a number of people to have been around at the time of the robbery.
“I would like anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident or saw a man matching the suspect’s description to contact the police a soon as possible.” Anyone with any information which could assist the police investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police by calling 101.
