TWO teenagers have been arrested following an assault that left an 18-year-old man with a fractured skull.
Just before 3am this morning (Friday, March 29) police received a report of a fight on Times Square in Newcastle.
Officers attended the scene and discovered an 18-year-old man suffering from a head injury.
He was taken to the city's Royal Victoria Infirmary for treatment to a fractured skull where he remains. His injuries are not life threatening.
Two 17-year-old males have been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Investigations are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101, extension 69191 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
