DESIGN students left their cosy studios and dived in to a freezing North Sea in the name of art today (Friday, March 29).
The eight applied art students were raising money for their end-of-degree show in June and raised about £400 by jumping into the sea at Redcar.
The friends were all wearing fancy dress and will graduate from Cleveland College of Art and Design in Hartlepool this summer.
Tracy Lloyd, 36, who lives in Newton Aycliffe in County Durham, said: "It was actually snowing and I can assure you the sea was absolutely freezing.
"The photograher asked us all to actually go back in so he could get more shots, that was the hardest bit, actually going back in."
The students are hoping to raise £120 each to stage a professional standard exhibition at the college which will feature their ceremics, textiles and jewellery.
