THE ‘desperate’ family of a man who has been missing since Sunday have made a direct appeal for him to come home.

Tanveer Ahmed, 37, was last seen on CCTV at about 4am walking towards Riverside Road in Stockton, where he lives with his wife and children.

His wife, Shazia, said: “The boys are really missing you and we want you home safe.”

She added: “Tanveer is always surrounded by his family and he feels safest when he is at home.

“I would ask anyone who may have seen a man who they believe to be Tanveer to please, please contact police. He may be confused and incoherent as he does have a fragile state of mind.”

Mr Ahmed is described as an Asian male, wearing a long, black, traditional Asian-style shirt and white trousers. He is 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build and has a moustache.

Detective Inspector Steve Roche, of Stockton Police, said: “Tanveer’s family are understandably very concerned about him and they are desperate for him to return home.

“Our concern grows with each day that passes and therefore we need all the help that we can get from members of the public in order to trace him.

“If you think you may have seen Tanveer then please contact us. The smallest piece of information could help us find him.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency 101 number.
