A COUNTY Durham man charged with possessing a fake passport made his first appearance in court today (Wednesday, March 27).
Matthew William Joseph Dogley, of Heatherburn Court, Newton Aycliffe, is accused of possessing a Seychelles passport bearing a counterfeit Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) stamp in Swansea, Wales, on February 27 last year.
Mr Dogley is also alleged to have presented false photocopied documents, including a fake ILR stamp, to immigration officers in Newton Aycliffe on July 3.
Magistrates in the town declined jurisdiction and the case was committed to Durham Crown Court on April 4.
The 35-year-old, who did not enter a plea, received unconditional bail.
