A PANCAKE parlour which opened on Shrove Tuesday is thriving, in spite of the Lenten tradition of fasting.
The Madhatter’s Pancake Parlour launched in Durham Indoor Market on Tuesday, February 12, offering a wide range of sweet treats.
Owner Poppy Solari says despite others’ concerns that a successful first day might be followed by 40 days of want as people stuck to Lenten vows, the business has flourished.
“Trade has been fantastic ever since we launched,” the 31-year-old said.
