POLICE have seized three weapons as part of an investigation into the shooting of a man and a child with air rifle pellets.

A 52-year-old man was struck by a pellet on the elbow while working on his car and a seven-year-old girl was hit in the stomach a short while later.

The incidents happened in Ullswater Close, Spennymoor, County Durham, just after 5.30pm on Thursday, March 21.

Police have today (Wednesday, March 27) said that three weapons have been recovered from a property in Spennymoor.

Inspector Graham Milne said: “There is nothing linking them with the incidents but they have been sent away for forensic examinations and enquiries are ongoing.”
