The case of a Darlington man who is alleged to have threatening to kill people with a samurai sword will be dealt with at crown court.
Darren Paul Christer, 37, of Zetland Street, denies a charge of affray when he appeared at Darlington Magistrate’s Court today (Tuesday March 26).
Due to the serious nature of the incident, magistrates declined jurisdiction and will commit the case to Crown Court at a hearing on Thursday May 23.
