STUDENTS and staff at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, in Darlington, celebrated World Down Syndrome Day by joining an international campaign ‘Lots of Socks’, donating £1 for the privilege of wearing unusual and wacky sock combinations. More than £370 was raised for the Education Centre for Children with Down Syndrome, in Newton Aycliffe.
FUNDS RAISED: A colourful event held in celebration of International Women’s Day raised £265 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Businesswomen from across the region attended an afternoon tea event, at The Bowes Museum, near Barnard Castle. It was organised by accountants and business advisers Clive Owen & Co LLP, in Darlington, to coincide with International Women’s Day.
