A TELEVISION show in which celebrity chefs test their baking skills against those of Yorkshire Dales residents will be screened next week.
Country Show Cook Off, on Monday (April 1) at 6.30pm on BBC2, will follow Silvena Rowe and Aldo Zilli as they competed at last year’s Muker Show.
The pair put forward some of their own baking in the section for "items of food from a Dales kitchen".
Ms Rowe won first place with a fruit cake topped with gold leaf marzipan fruit and a jar of rhubarb and vanilla jam, but Mr Zilli could only manage third with his Yorkshire rascals, fruit buns and Yorkshire curd tart.
He was beaten by Gill Gurton, from Muker, who scooped second with her lemon curd and home-made bread.
Ms Rowe said: “I loved cooking English traditional food as if I was one of the locals, but I did feel like an exotic creature in the quintessentially British countryside.”
