A MIDDLESBROUGH defender is encouraging fans to take part in a thrilling zip-wire challenge and raise money for charity at the same time.
Jonathan Woodgate is challenging them to defy gravity at 35 miles per hour along the 200-metres zip-wire - 30 metres above the Riverside pitch.
Registration is open for the event, on Saturday May 4 and will raise funds for the Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation, which makes a real difference to the lives of local children, young people and families.
“This is an opportunity of a lifetime,” he said. “Soaring across the pitch on a zip-wire will be an unforgettable experience and it’s all for a good cause.
“I hope as many fans as possible take on the challenge.”
The event is strictly limited to 120 places. Entry fee is £30 per person and all the money raised goes directly to the charity.
For details and to pay your £30 registration, call the Foundation on 01642-757676 or email enquiries@mfcp.co.uk. Anyone over 16 can take part and instruction and equipment will be provided together with an allocated time slot between 10am and 4pm.
