STUDENTS from Unity City Academy (UCA) in Middlesbrough got a taste for a career in journalism this week as they took part in a nationwide project.
Around 50 year eight students joined the BBC News School Report challenge which provides 11 to 16-year-olds with the chance to make their own news reports for a real audience. All of the reports published were featured on the BBC News website and on UCA’s website.
Throughout the day students worked on a variety of journalism activities including producing an e-newspaper, podcasts and short videos. The group of UCA students wrote about topics including the Olympic legacy and their own experience of attending the games, UCA’s tenth anniversary and what it is really like to be 13 in 2013.
