A TEENAGE boy was airlifted to hospital after being involved in a collision with a bus.
North Yorkshire Police said the incident involved the 14-year-old pedestrian, a single-deck coach and a Renault motor vehicle.
It happened at 4.25pm today outside RAF Menwith Hill, near Harrogate.
The boy sustained serious injuries and was flown to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
A police spokeswoman tonight described his condition as serious.
The road was closed for five hours while officers investigated the collision.
Witnesses who have not yet come forward are asked to call Harrogate Road Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number 317 of March 21.
