A public meeting for people to discuss crime is being held at Annfield Plain Methodist Church on Railway Street from 6pm-7pm on March 28.

The meeting will be attended by a representative by the neighbourhood policing team and will be specific to the area. Individual neighbourhood priorities will be discussed. All members of the community are welcome.

ID CARDS: Two ID4U sign-up sessions to give young people proof of age identity cards are being held in the Derwentside area.

Cards will be available at Consett Police Station on Monday, April 8, from noon to 4pm, and the Louisa Centre in Stanley on Thursday April 11 from 10am-2pm.

Anyone wishing to sign up for a card must bring along a valid passport, driving licence or PASS accredited card. Alternatively, they will need a ‘verifier’ to complete part of the application form. Verifiers must be over 25-years-old and know the applicant personally.

ON SONG: Lanchester Male Voice Choir meets at Lanchester Community Centre at 7.30pm each Monday in the main hall. All men are welcome and auditions are not required.

EGG HUNT: An Easter egg hunt is being held in Blackhill and Consett and Park on Tuesday April at 2pm, from 10.30am-noon.

WOMEN’S GROUP: The Women’s Institute meets every third Monday of the month at Leadgate Community Centre. Meetings start at 2pm.
