ORGANISERS behind plans to revive an air show after more than 20 years have appealed for sponsorship help to stage the event.
The Friends of Durham Tees Valley Airport plan to hold an air show for the first time since 1989 at the venue, with displays from the Red Arrows, Tornado and Falcons Parachute demonstration teams.
The group, formed by 50 flying enthusiasts, is working with airport officials to stage the show on Saturday, June 22, and hope to add flight schools and visits from aircraft to the event.
A spokesman said: "We are confident we will be able to provide a comprehensive static display, trial flights with resident flying schools, a general aviation fly-in and a number of stalls.
“We are appealing for help from businesses who want to support our venture and celebrate the airport by providing an entertaining event.”
